When comunication is important…
Someone wrote me:
“dude, you better test your scripts in ie8 (non compat) they don’t work at all…”.
Well… is him giving me some useful information?
Or maybe he is giving me some good advice?
Or maybe he belive he is the only IE8 user that is trying my jquery plugin?
Ok…, no, he is only arrogant and unable on comunicate whatever is the problem he had whith my jQuery components, nor which components had problems…
Of course I had tests on IE7 and 8 and 6 and here are some screnshots that demonstrate they are working on IE8 (not comp):
Maybe they are not so nice as in Chrome or Firefox or Safari… but this is IE fault due to its conservative politics of growing;
It’s known that I’m not an IE lover but I’m doing my best to let all IE user get my Plugin for their scope, and, if you find bugs, describe the problem you had so that I can find a solution.
Thanks,
Matteo
Hi David,
I tested mb.containerPlus with the effectDuration at 1000 ms and on FF 3.5, Chrome 4, Safari 4.0, Opera 10 I have the same behavior; on IE8 on a virtual PC the iconize behavior is immediate but all the rest is the same; That to prevent the ugly rendering of IE as I post you before…
Anyway I think that setting to 1000 ms is too much, the effect is too slow even in FF 3.5 and the top image is cutted even there…
Maybe I can’t replicate your issue on my computer but I can’t see anything that could be considered a bug in IE.
Bye,
matteo
Hi Matteo, and thanks for answer, I think tha I find the way to explain me:
this.options = {
containment:”document”,
elementsPath:”elements/”,
onCollapse:function(){},
onBeforeIconize:function(){},
onIconize:function(){},
onClose: function(){},
onResize: function(){},
onDrag: function(){},
onRestore:function(){},
onLoad:function(){},
collapseEffect:”slide”, //or “fade”
effectDuration:300 (change this to 1000)
};
Now see the diference betwen mozila, chrome, and ie8.. thanks very much… and sorry for bad english.
Hi David,
I tested again right now mb.containerPlus on IE8 (inside a virtual environment that should be slower than a normal PC) but, again…, I really don’t notice serious problems on the component behaviours; even the collapse and expand action doesn’t cut icon as you say…
the fade and the slideUp effect where so ugly rendered in IE that I had to detect it and switch to a show/hide effect instead…
Here is a short video on how mb.containerPlus works on IE8 in a virtualBox environment with windows Vista 64 bit and IE8 installed.

Let me know if there are differences between what I have and what you have on your PC.
Bye,
matteo
Its a great Plugin but, Effectively the plugin not work with my IE8, it looks like good but at the transition moment to collapse or expand the icons its like cut, doesn´t fade and no visual effect.
