jquery.mb.browser reintroduces the removed $.browser object in jQuery 1.9
With the new 1.9 jQuery release they removed definitely their $.browser method.
I know that feature detection is better than using user agent sniffing, but for many of you who used the $.browser scattered in thousand of line of code this plugin can solve the problem without changing anything on your code. just place it after the jquery-1.9.js inclusion and it’ll do the work.
You can download it from gitHub: https://github.com/pupunzi/jquery.mb.browser/archive/master.zip
I’ve tried to open the demo for check what browser use my galaxy3, and yes it’s safari mobile 4.0,
So the question change, why android use safari, an apple’s browser?
I have a problem with the safari detection:
On document ready I check if the browser it’s older than 6 and i add a function, this work fine but it work also if I open the web site on a Galaxy 3, i don’t know why!
Now i have seen that’s a specific call for android “jQuery.browser.android” i can use this for unbind the previous function but it’s not the best way I think… Some suggest?
